My name is Victoria but you can call me Moon, and I have been interested in the paranormal for a long time, ever since I saw what I thought was a ghost when I was 5 years old. A white apparition appeared in my doorway and I looked straight at him, I knew it was a man, and I screamed because for some reason I thought he was trying to close my door. Why that scared me, I don't know. Years went by, I still was interested in ghosts and the paranormal, it never went away. When I was little, I was the 2nd grader carrying around those fiction books, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (and I remember people walking up to me and asking me things because I read them all the time, not just around Halloween) and was interested in ghosts but it never became serious until I was much older. In 2004 before White Noise came out and because of a website discussing it, I discovered Dr. Konstantīns Raudive. I was in college at the time and was able to get a copy of his book to read, Breakthrough: An Amazing Experiment in Electronic Communication with the Dead. Then in all honesty, I had an existential crisis due to his book and another book that had to do with his book (I could go into more detail but it is existential related not ghost related), I do not remember the title of the second book. It was just as old as well though!

(Breakthrough: An Amazing Experiment in Electronic Communication with the Dead)

I stopped reading both books immediately and returned them to the college library. Never truly finishing them. I still would look into hauntings every now and again on campus or nearby in Kent Ohio where I was. Though I avoided anything to do with EVPs. I found some things on campus but did not want to go to said places alone and had no one to go with me at the time. Years have passed and it's now 2013 and I have now acquired some ghost hunting equipment. I love a lot of the ghost hunting shows, whether real proof or not, they started my re-interest in ghosts and got me into the idea of hunting with equipment. Though EVPs I had learned about via being led to Dr. Konstantin Raudive back in college and then watching White Noise when it came out! 

Ghosts and the human element

I think sometimes we forget when trying to prove ghosts exist with science, when a scientific experiment requires the same results in an experiment over and over, is that we are possibly dealing with humans! Humans with choice... a ghost that chose to speak to you yesterday might not speak to you today. Humans can move around, so that same ghost might not even be around, who is to say any are around? How do you really study something with choice/free will and the ability to move that you can't see? They even have emotion which may influence their choices! It's an unpredictable element!!! Saying that there are ghosts, how do we prove such an unpredictable thing? I believe some of the evidence gathered by ghost hunters out there but I think, until we have a way to see ghosts all the time -- which if they can manifest at will, who's to say when that'd be? What energy form are they when they don't show as heat, cold, or electro magnetic? Or, would one then say none are around? And, so, when they're not where are they? This is a big planet! Though maybe they are in another realm? Moving back and forth between here and another place unknown to us, unreachable?

Unlike some others, I consider some, not all, EVPs could be extraterrestrial... how do we know not? Maybe some are demons or evil beings and some angels. I've read before both come in on different frequencies than 'ghosts'! It's all unknown and yet, it's all the same if thes beings are human like with choice/free will and the ability to move around... ALL unpredictable elements for experimentation!

However, soon -- maybe, I wish and hope, not sure how much so I will start my own experimentation but I want to buy a composition notebook for notes, versus online notation! Who knows though if I'll put this off further, if I cannot find alone time!!

I wish I still had my brother's "orb" photo! This orb was not white like everybody else's orbs. That I have seen for the most part. Watching a ghost show just now, and this psychic who says she was one for 13 years, captured one and she said, "It was the biggest one I'd ever seen"... the orb my brother caught once when taking photos was almost bigger than your typical orb in ghost photos! He also took them sequentially and the one before had no orb and the one after had no orb... and all were of the same spot. We didn't physically see the orb at the time. He was taking pictures of my nephew (I believe) and the orb was unintentionally in the shot. I remember my nephew was definitely in that room with us. And, the fact that it was blue, was interesting [now that I've seen it, it's not as deep of a blue as I had thought]! I think there may have been an even smaller blue orb nearer to the big one on one side of it, but I can't be 100% right now. I wish it were an actual orb because so many people capture those average white floating balls of light. This was a decent sized and blue!! I need to ask him next time he's awake if he has it!

In this house, I did used to hear footsteps in the attic when we first moved in. Too large to be animal because they weren't soft footsteps or scurrying. They were loud. Once it also sounded like something got up and ran full force across the attic, then stopped mid way, that's how loud it was and it was the sound of running. Over time it slowly started to stop and now, 2 years into living here, I literally never hear a peep out of the attic anymore! It was always localized to one portion too, since the attic expands the whole top of the house. Our house is kind of long, in my opinion. Everything always happened on the right side of the house over top of the living room and my old bedroom. Never on the other side of the house, which I've spent time in as well. My sister was living in the two rooms on the other end of the house at one point and I spent a lot of time over there when she was here. So, I know the house pretty well! 

I often wanted to run up into the attic to see when I heard those footsteps but that is one room in this house that I feel like I need permission to go into. It's the type with the door in the ceiling with the pull down stairs! And, I know if I just went in there... I'd get asked why I was in there and feel interrogated! I'm not sure how safe the floor is anyway, never even been in it, or how well getting around is.
